Balancing Act is a SaaS suite of budget engagement tools to help government educate and engage citizens on the budget. In a highly scalable, cost-effective manner, it helps government to be responsive to taxpayer priorities and to build trust. The tool is used in more than 50 local governments and has been named to the GovTech100 for three years running. 

We are hiring two inside sales professionals who can build upon the excellent product/market fit we have achieved and help us to add a goal of 100 new government clients in the next year. Our company brand is smart and dedicated to service--something you will need to convey to potential customers as you work with them through what can often be a long sales process. 

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of successful experience in a structured sales process and who is looking to have a positive impact on public life through her or his success in acquiring new users of the simulation. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all stages of the sales process from lead generation to win/close
  • Prospecting including high volume calls, cold calling, emails, discovery meetings
  • Use an engaging and penetrating discovery process to qualify true sales opportunities
  • Build quotes, schedule and host demos, assist prospect through procurement process
  • Use Insightly CRM to track all data related to sales
  • Work to identify market trends, best practices, referrals, and new opportunity areas
  • Meet or exceed sales quota
  • Provide input to the sales process to colleagues in order to continuously refine and develop the sales strategy and process
  • Demonstrate and convey company values—such as honesty, service and respect in all interactions

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of relevant sales experience
  • Able to understand the problems faced by government leaders regarding the budget and convey confidence that our solution can help them
  • You demonstrate excellent communication skills, strong active listening skills, and no fear to pick up the phone and make cold calls
  • You demonstrate strong critical/strategic thinking skills, able to problem solve quickly
  • Experience in SaaS, software, or cloud-based technology sales a plus
  • Are interested in being a part of team of fun, committed civic tech leaders who are passionate about the public good
